Brian Ransdell, MD, FAAD

MOHS micrographic surgery

Dr. Ransdell is a fellow in the American Board of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs Surgery.  Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, he attended Earlham College (Richmond, Indiana).  

He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, Texas) followed by his internship at Baylor and his residency in Dermatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center.  He first worked in north Houston (The Woodlands) with Kelsey Seybold Clinic for seven years before being drawn to Austin and the Hill Country in 2013.  He spent eight years working at Baylor Scott and White Clinic in Marble Falls, TX where he served as Director of Dermatology and Mohs surgery as well as Medical Director of the Specialty Clinic and a member of the hospital's Medical Executive Committee.   He is owner and CEO of Longhorn Dermatology (Spicewood, TX) and co-owner and co-president of Clear Creek Dermatology (Llano and Marble Falls, TX).  

Outside of his work duties, Dr. Ransdell enjoys hiking and biking in the Hill Country, spending time on Lake Travis, exploring local restaurants and wineries. He enjoys scuba diving, international travel/adventures, yoga, running (with his Golden Retriever), and reading.  He and his family live in the Briarcliff/Spicewood area.

Megan Trainor, MD, FAAD

MOHS to Mohs micrographic surgery

Dr. Trainor is a board certified dermatologist and a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon.

Dr. Trainor grew up in Austin and attended St. Stephen’s Episcopal School.  She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania.  Upon graduation, she served as a teacher in low-income elementary schools in Houston for two years with Teach with America.  Dr. Trainor remained in Houston for medical school at Baylor College of Medicine.  She then returned to Austin and completed her internship and dermatology residency at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical school where she was selected to serve as Chief Resident in her final year.  Dr. Trainor completed her Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (Mohs) fellowship at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York, NY.  

She currently lives in Austin with her husband and daughter.  Dr. Trainor enjoys spending time with her family, cycling (while wearing a helmet with a wide sun brim), hiking, and uphill skiing.

Elyse Weed, MPAS, PA-C

Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology

Elyse is a board-certified Physician Assistant who specializes in medical and cosmetic dermatology.

A native Texan, Elyse was born and raised in Houston and graduated with honors from Texas A&M University. She then attended The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she received her master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles where she trained and worked in a private dermatology practice in Beverly Hills. There, she honed her skills in treating a wide variety of skin concerns as well as the art of cosmetic treatments and procedures.

Elyse is happy to be back in Texas and living close to family again. When she’s not seeing patients, you can usually find her slathering sunscreen on her two kids or testing out new recipes in her kitchen. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and soaking up the Hill Country views with her husband.
